Byproducts - Sawdust, Shredded Bark, and Wood Chips

We’ve been making sawdust ever since we cut our first log. Our sawdust is made of a variety of species and is used to make wood fuel pellets. Additionally, area farmers use it for animal bedding. Sawdust is available by semi-truck and small truck loads.

All of our logs are run through a debarker prior to sawing, which enables easier cutting of the log and produces bark-free lumber. The shredded bark is often used in landscaping.

Wood chips are made from the initial cuts of the log. Slabs and edging from the logs are run through a chipper, producing hardwood chips for the fuel industry, landscaping, and paper manufacturing.
